MSP: An opportunity, not a threat

Did you know that 4 of 5, IT technical leads and IT Managers perceive multi service providers (MSPs) as a threat to their roles and careers within their companies?  Whilst this threat may be true from other MSPs, at Bluegrass we are firm believers in changing this perception and enhancing your IT function and working with you, not against you.

Throughout my career when working as the sole entity in the IT department or leading a small team, I myself perceived an MSP as a threat, believing that they wanted to circumnavigate me as a decision maker and go straight to director level.  Why do some MSPs do this? Because it is easier to push a proposal to a non-technical decision maker than it is to someone with the technical knowledge to be able to raise important questions to get the most value from a product or service.  Circumnavigating the on-site IT team, not only leads to frustration but also to isolation and a hostile environment.

Many SMEs have an internal IT department consisting of either a small team or a single systems administrator or technician.  At Bluegrass we understand the need for CoMITs (Co-Managed IT services) and compliment your IT Support function by providing you with an escalation point for your tickets with first rate second line support. We can also support the business during periods of annual leave to ensure a continual IT function.

On a personal level whilst I have experienced this historically, I understand the impact that not having a professional and successful working relationship with an MSP has.  I firmly believe that this needs to change from within our industry by developing CoMITs programs to be able to work in partnership effectively with you.  It is important that all on-site IT personnel understand that we do not want your jobs and value the knowledge that you have within your respective organisations.  At Bluegrass we can share our tools with you, for example, giving you access to the same tool that we use to be able to remotely access your machines and diagnose issues.

As the lockdown comes to an end, the impact that the pandemic has had on corporate budgets has been significant.  At Bluegrass, we offer flexible packages to cater for all budgets and environments whether you have an IT department or not.

Bluegrass have teams on standby 24/7/365, not only to support you but to partner with you on your projects and work with you on your IT strategy to ensure the IT function is in alignment with your company vision, best business practices and providing value to your business.
