Five tips for small business online security

Earlier this week the National Cyber Security Centre (NCSC), the UK government’s cyber security taskforce, published a guide to small business online security, to help businesses protect themselves against cyber attacks.

Split into five sections; the small business online security guide aims to educate business owners about the need for online security and provide guidance on how to defend against cyber attacks. It’s a useful and practical guide.

The five areas covered within the guide are:

  1. Backing up your data
  2. Protecting your organisation from malware
  3. Keeping your smartphones (and tablets) safe
  4. Using passwords to protect your data
  5. Avoiding phishing attacks
