Bluegrass Group BCDR solution wins at European IT & Software Awards

Exeter based Managed Service Provider and technology experts Bluegrass Group win at the European IT & Software Awards 2021.

Bluegrass Group are utterly delighted to have picked up the award for SME (Cloud or SaaS) Solution this year.

Full-service MSP Bluegrass implemented a comprehensive Business Continuity and Disaster Recovery (BCDR) solution for for one of their Exeter based clients. The solution is based on Datto SIRIS, installed as an on-premise  data protection appliance that securely backs up all business data into the private Datto Cloud.

Their client is now able to immediately get its IT systems back up and running from the Datto Cloud in case of an outage caused by a server failure, power cut or ransomware attack. Their staff have access to the data they need at all times: even in the case of a disaster such as a fire in the office building, they wouldn’t experience more than 20 minutes of downtime. They also have access to the Bluegrass disaster recover suite.

Chris Thomas, Joint Managing Director of Bluegrass Group comments ‘Datto SIRIS works entirely in the background with no impact on existing infrastructure or processes, the BCDR solution completes incremental backups every hour for each of the customer’s virtual servers. It automatically verifies that the backups are complete, and that the data can be replicated within minutes from the cloud if required.

Datto SIRIS also continuously monitors for ransomware, providing additional peace of mind and complete protection for all of their client’s data.

We have complete trust in this product because it delivers some of the best features of any BCDR solution going. It gives our clients total peace of mind and means we know, should the worst happen, we can get our clients back up and running within minutes. This means less disruption for their business, minimal downtime and minimal loss of revenue.’

David Thomas, Joint Managing Director of Bluegrass Group added ‘These awards attract some of the biggest tech organisations across the globe. The fact that we were even a finalist among them, was a proud moment for us. To then actually win in this category has truly blown us away. It demonstrates that SMEs born and grown in Devon, like us, are being recognised for delivering world class solutions that really make a difference to SMEs across the UK. We could not be more proud of our whole team right now, it was a special win for us.’

Now in their 12th year, the European IT & Software Excellence Awards have been designed to recognise and reward excellence in European software development, IT and Telecoms solutions provision.

Firmly established as Europe’s most prestigious IT Channel Awards, the European IT & Software Excellence Awards will bring together leading Channel Partners, Resellers, System Integrators, ISVs, MSPs, Services Providers and Distributors from across Europe to demonstrate their ability to provide industry-leading IT solutions for their customers.

The judges were looking for solutions which have offered a transforming use of technology and real value, and said that entries will need to be able to demonstrate the value of the solution by providing a real life case of an SME that is using the solution.
